"The Great Rescue" tells a true historical story from over seventy years ago. The patriotic martyr Gao Jincheng was commissioned by the Communist Party of China to go deep into the Zhangye area to rescue the Red Army soldiers trapped in the area after the defeat of the Red West Route Army in Hexi, and ultimately made a heroic sacrifice. This story, which is almost universally known in the Zhangye area of Gansu Province, is the first time it has been adapted into a film or television drama
