In April of the fourth year of the Keiri era, after Mr. Kondo surrendered in Ryushan, Tsukiyoshi returned to Edo. On his way to visit the shogunate, Chikawa met Tsukiyoshi, who had pleaded with Kondo everywhere to avoid death. The two of them went to visit the shogunate together, and thus the story of the Yasukuni Army in Edo began.
