In 1994, mainland composer Bao Yuankai was invited by the Taiwan Symphony Orchestra Chen Chengxiong to attend a seminar in Hualien. Since then, he has visited Taiwan ten times and taught in Taiwan for 11 years, during which he wrote an eight chapter symphonic suite called "Taiwan Music and Painting".
